Punk meets Cosplay: The mesmerizing scene that is Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque Tour 2018

Geek culture have invaded American entertainment at all levels. What used to be whispered about at Dungeons & Dragons night is now the bread and butter of the still-new millennial mindset when it comes to fun on Saturday night.

One need look no further than Blackheart Burlesque, the latest traveling show by punk ethos alt-models the Suicide Girls, to see just how deeply and profoundly the once-derided nerds have inherited the earth & who cares cause the girls are freaking HOT.

Not a novice when it comes to this tour or the SG gang, I've seen this show (now in it's fourth year) in every incarnation & have been a proud subscriber of SuicideGirls.com literally since it's infancy so you could say I'm a bit of a fan.

Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque - March 16th - Gas Monkey Live - Dallas, TX

For this tour, the show was being MC'd once again by Sunny who thankfully is also still in the show.

Sunny

If ever such a thing existed that someone was actually born to do this, meaning to perform liberatingly naked (or close to it) & celebrating freedom of sexuality it would be Sunny. If you've ever been lucky enough to be in the rare presence of a woman that just somehow exuded sex just by breathing, you know what I'm talking about. And even then, chances are, she didn't look like Sunny.
This girl just IS sexiness - Described for her first encounter with SG - She appeared at one of these shows as a patron, got up onstage during the "audience participation" portion a few years ago in NYC. And when this happens there is an almost zero chance the attendee is gonna be fearless enough to bare any skin to would warrant an NSFW tag. In Sunny's case, at that initial show she took ALL of her clothes off & never left. We are all the better for this decision.

Sunny returned to perform an act that has to be seen to be believed - She sings (quite well) bringing the house down with a bawdy appropriation of Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid dressed as Ariel while doing a strip tease appropriating the lyrics to fit the evening's festivities. She really is an accomplished singer & this act has become a highlight as well as a staple of Blackheart Burlesque.
She was also very interactive with the audience - Not just getting them hyped, which she is very good at as well but actually inviting them up onstage to do certain fun little bits & games.

Abbey

Another performer that practically stole the show in everything she did was Abbey - She also sings & brought the freaking house down with powerful covers of Amy Winehouse & Adele. Then positively SLAYED in her routines.

Culminating when Sunny invited an audience member to take a third-grade reading quiz while receiving a lap dance from Abbey.
The quiz is called "Good luck trying to read while I shake it shake it in front of you" ....or something haha

The song and dance routines are performed back to back, and fluidly transitioned with the signal of the stage lights dimming. The girls from the last song run off stage, and then more girls file onto the stage for the next song before the lights turn up again.
Then it just become one big hot cosplay party that included homages to Star Wars, Stranger Things. Black Panther, The Fifth Element & more (all accompanied by the corresponding theme songs) most blessed into reality thanks to their amazing choregrapher Liryc who also performs in the show.

Star Wars

Not sure I ever considered how much sexier Boba Fett would be if he were a tattooed hottie with a perfect ass where his jet-pack ought to be, but the evidence is on display at every show. The Star Wars number is pure geek-nerd-sex delirium and definitely something I’ll never forget.

Game of Thrones

GOT spectacular had it all, the fans reacted most strongly to this number & for me personally was the highlight of the show. An incredible take & a job well-done.

Stranger Things

More audience participation continued as she invited some of the female fans up onstage to have a bit of a dance off.

The 50 Shades of Grey number was a huge hit that headlined the show, telling of the audience as it wasn't just frat dudes, creepy old men or curious couples, the LGBT community held a strong & loud footprint in the audience.

If you haven't seen this show, make it a priority, it's so much fun with amazing, open-minded, liberated performers & fans with an unbelievably killer soundtrack.

The Fans:
The people were all super fun and really into it -
I met people from just about every walk of life - tall/short - gay/straight you name it. Great to see such a cultural mix all enjoying the same event.

Lia Melissa (center, on the right) is also an SG alumni here to support her sisters with friend in tow.

The girls are so awesome & fan-friendly that they hold a meet & greet before every show which also provides an opportunity to meet local Suicide Girls who they often will also invite to come onstage and be represented.

Don't forget to tune into TrickyKid Radio tomorrow as the performers from Suicide Girls Blackheart Burlesque take over!
